My Notes Have Moved.

Dear Friends,

Renee's has a new website! Yup, it can be found here: http://ReneesClothing.com.

Now my notes will show up directly on the new website, at this link: http://reneesclothing.com/category/notes/

Although I will still be posting weekly, my friends, this is the last post I will publish on Blogger. I know. Just when you thought you had it all figured out.

Don't worry, though. If you are tech challenged, contact me the old-fashioned way. By phone. 425-252-2230. I'll help you find me if you are having trouble.

Thank you for following along.

Always sending love,

Renee

Fresh Out of the Box

Stella Carakasi

Dear friends,

This is going to be a quick note because it's late. Please excuse my brevity and fragmented sentences. And some poor photos... I'm headed to Portland tomorrow for a short buying trip. Before I go, I would be remiss if I didn't show you this week's abundant and beautiful new arrivals...

1. A new line for Renee's: Alembika. (Al-em-be´-kuh) It's Israeli. A characteristic of the line: mixing prints. Colors: black, gray, red, white, khaki. Prints: bubble, stripe, mix. Pictured below.

details

Bubble cardigan with tank and stripe skirt

Mix tunic, would look good with stripe skirt above

Mix dress

2. Fly London black perforated suede wedge. Slip on. Comfy yet cute. Love.

3. Planet. Pink vent-back oxford shirt. Swoon! Tunic length. Other styles (some not pictured; please ask if interested): black and white stripe smock blouse 98 ctn/2 lycra; white "spa" laser-cut tank (softest cotton, long, uneven hem, great for layering, loose); white and black pencil stripe tee (softest cotton); v-neck rib bottom sweater in coral and cornflower blue.

Planet's yummy sweater in blue... How do they make it so flattering?

... and coral (not red like it looks here)

Vent back. Cool cut. Tunic length. Pink!

Oxford cloth! Photo = NO justice!

Planet has such delicious, soft cotton. They call it their "spa" collection.

4. Vitamin blouses. Gray herringbone with snap tape (another swoon!) and navy/white stripe (not pictured. It should be pictured; it's great).

Pic does NOT do this beautiful show piece justice!

detail with tag (!) Forgive the ugly white tag...

5. J Brand jeans. New! J Brand"legitimizes" Renee's. (I had to "apply" to bring you this line.  Ooooh, so exclusive... ) Contemporary line (read: young). High rise, dark wash, skinny fit.

6. Stella Carakasi (not pictured; should be, but arrived too late. If interested, please ask. I will feature it here soon). Fabrics include organic cotton, linen, hemp, tencel and modal. Berkeley, California-based.

7. Majestic tees. Luxurious layering tops. French. Leaning toward contemporary (again, younger) fit. Only one ugly picture below, but we received beautiful tops from them. Believe me.

This is my personal fav layering tank. I wear it almost every day.

8. More dresses. Pictured.

Pretty cerulean (Google it!) blue color.

Navy blue

The always-flattering wrap style

9. Alashan 95 cotton 5 cashmere cardigan sweaters. Restocking our supply. Best sellers. Love. The best quality/price ratio. Colors: sky blue, cruise blue (royal), ash gray (light gray), white, midnight navy, lavender ice, Paris rose (coral), blue jeans. Unfortunately, not pictured. :(

10. FDJ French Dressing traditional jeans. High rise, dark wash, no fading, even coloring, straight leg (not skinny).

11. Prairie Cotton and Necessitees. Great cotton tops. Work-horses for your wardrobe. Great way to get colors in your wardrobe. Inexpensive, but good quality. Colors include black, white, salmon, punch red, smoke, wasabi, aqua, cobalt and more.

Marlene and I have been opening boxes like mad this week. All the new arrivals are on hangers for you to see, but they are not displayed (merchandised) all pretty yet. Soon.

You, my beloved readers, now get the scoop. (It pays to read all the way to the bottom.) Ready? All the sale items are now marked 70% off. Unbelievable deals to be had. At these prices, the stuff's gonna be GONE quick. Public announcement goes out next week...

That's it, my friends. Gotta get home and catch a few winks before I head out at 5 am (just a few hours away). Have a great weekend, and see you soon!

A slouchy sweater and soft, lightweight jeans. Ahhh. Northwest perfection.

Dear Friends,

Perfect your casual look this spring with Wooden Ships sweaters and Silver jeans.

Don't waste time trying to break in your denim when you can get the look and feel now with this Silver high-waisted capri. Crafted with ultra comfy Super Stretch fabric, this lightweight, soft style moves with you without bagging out. A medium wash provides a well-loved look with small beach spots and ideal fading from waistband to rolled cuff.

Wooden Ships long-sleeved v-neck cardigan is available at Renee's in this crystal blue color. The fit is boyfriend style (read: oversized), and the fabric is lightweight and soft. Yummy!

Pair your new sweater with these Silver high-waisted white capris this spring. If you have curvy hips and thighs but a narrower waist, this is the style for you. Silver designers know that we don't want gapping in the back. This cut is crafted to flatter a well-defined curve but prevent gapping in the back by contouring the waist. Enjoy wearing this luxuriously soft fabric, with distressed accents at the hips and pockets to give your white jeans a well-loved look.

Want to project a more classic look? Then go with this cardigan sweater, also from Wooden Ships. Go to work in this sweater. Wear it like a jacket with dress pants, or pair it with denim for a more casual look. Find this gem at Renee's in charcoal gray and light blue.

We are receiving lots of new arrivals every day. Don't miss out. Check out what's new in person. And don't forget to visit our Racks of Opportunity. Find first-rate apparel from last season now marked 60% off. We look forward to seeing you soon. Have a lovely week.

With love,

Renee

Filthy, black-edged snowbanks

Dear Friends,

Marlene and I are having a blast dressing you this spring. It's exciting to present a fresh, new assortment at Renee's. Not only do we get to dress you for your every-day lives, but now we can fit you for your dressier events with a new category: dresses. You can review all the new dresses here and here.

I was planning to tell you about my market trip to New York City, but I cancelled the trip. I didn't want to hassle with the snow and ice storms lashing the city this winter. The New York Times "Taking Notes" snippet (nytimes.com/taking note) this week resonates with me:

"Winter shrinks the vision, narrows it to the limits of a parka hood. It numbs the heart, dulls the reflexes of graciousness and gratitude as people's behavior on sidewalks and train platforms shifts to self-preservation. It bends the neck, as eyes scan for ice, gauging the leapability of slush puddles and the danger of left-turning, nonyielding cabs. Is that filthy, black-edged snowbank crusty enough to slip on, or soft enough to sink into? Will I break my ankle or just soak it? Should I give up now, and die right here? It's windy. It hurts. I can't go on."

Who wants to go to freezing, windy, snowy New York in February when I can go to warm sunny Los Angeles in March?

Besides, my dim view of downtown LA has turned. Since my frequent trips there several years ago, the downtown core has been revived. People are living and working downtown now. Real restaurants exist there now. I look forward to revisiting a fantastic hotel I discovered a few weeks ago. It's reasonably priced (with a government discount) and so, so clean. I can't wait to retreat to my night time sanctuary. The luxurious surroundings, the bright white, thousand-count soft bed sheets, and the new smell are calling my name. In the contemporary and well-lit lobby, I feel like a princess, it's so pretty. Downtown Los Angeles. I know, right?

In the meantime, from Everett, Renee's has new arrivals from Tulip Clothing. Pictured throughout this post, Tulip is a 100% cotton collection with an artisan vibe. In a stripe, ticking and black mix assortment, each piece of Tulip a favorite to mix, match and collect. Stop by Renee's soon and take a look.

We are gratified to be a part of your lives. We count it a privilege to help you dress up, look good, and feel great. Thank you!

Sending love,

Renee

Out of Your Box.

Dear Friends,

Dresses for spring are ready for the taking at Renee's! Here are the latest arrivals. I know, you don't wear dresses. But this spring and summer you will be asked to a luncheon, a wedding, a shower, a graduation, an anniversary party, or some kind of event that requires a dress.

I guarantee if you wear a dress, one in which you feel comfortable and confident, everyone else will wish they had worn a dress, too.

Don't like your knees/legs? Here's the solution: fit and flare dress and self tanning lotion. It works.

Don't know which shoes to wear with a dress? There are plenty of stylish AND comfy shoes to be had on the market these days. So that excuse isn't gonna fly with me, loves.

Don't take dress-wearing too seriously. Have fun with wearing a dress! Dresses are multi-use, versatile, flattering, and wear-for-years staples.

If you wear a dress pictured in this post you won't be hiding. Why are you trying to hide, anyway? Come out this spring! Everything will turn out okay. I promise.

It's my job to get you out of your box. And believe me, I try. Of course, I myself am the most difficult  one to persuade. So I understand.

And now you have lots of dresses to choose from at Renee's. Accessorize with a scarf or jewelry and a matching pair of shoes. Easy. Set and done.

I'm having sooo much fun bringing in stylish new for you this spring. You have been embracing the newness, and THAT is extremely gratifying and rewarding. So let's get started! Come in now and take a peek. We will be waiting for you. Maybe we will even be wearing a dress.

Sending good cheer today,

Renee
