What to Give Your Sisters.

Hello again! How is your holiday season shaping up? My hope for you is that you are at peace. You are not overextending yourself. Your expectations are within limits. You are getting enough sleep, exercising, and eating well.

Earlier this month I had a little extra time and energy to bake some holiday treats. Baking used to be a ritual when I was growing up on the farm. Not just at holiday times either. But taking care of a retail business kind of squashed some of the domestic desires. So I decided to give myself permission, leave the clean laundry (overflowing the baskets and getting more wrinkled by the day), and enjoy being in the kitchen last weekend.

Hopefully you can stop by Renee's this Saturday, Dec. 10 when three beautiful, talented, and professional image consultants will be here to give us tips on how to dress to flatter our figures. Their presentation begins at 11 am. We still have a few seats left; please RSVP to reneesclothing@yahoo.com. Refreshments will include slices of pumpkin cream cheese roll and a "knock-off" version of Starbucks delicious Cranberry Bliss bars. Why pay $2.45 each when you can come to Renee's and get one for free?

How is your holiday shopping going? I hope you are finding something for everyone on your list. I put myself in your shoes as I look around the store. If I were to choose anything at Renee's, what would I give my sisters? The jammies (above top and below) from PJ Salvage are at the top of my list. They say "I love you! Enjoy this softness! Treat yourself!" They are comfy and feel-good. My sisters are too frugal to purchase these for themselves. Yet the prices are manageable for me, and taking care of the fabric will be a cinch for these busy mothers who are my sisters.

If you need a gift for someone you love, come in and browse at Renee's. Stop by for our special event on Saturday. And above all, don't forget to give yourself love and care this season just as you take care of others who are important to you.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sending love,

Renee

Chosen For You With Love

Dear friends,

In the wide realm of the retail world Renee's is not a big store. Marlene and I are the only "employees." We don't sell electronic devices. We don't buy "off-price" merchandise to mark up and then offer you a "sale." We don't do much advertising. I'm happy if I have time and energy to publish an email once a month!

We DO offer quality, value and a pleasant shopping experience with us, people you know. And we know you, too! At Renee's you will find items I personally chose with you in mind: apparel, jewelry, accessories I think you will enjoy and appreciate for years to come.

Our customers (you) are like family. When your loved ones come in and choose a gift for you, we can make an educated guess about your preferences, colors and sizes. (We also have wish lists you can fill out to help us.) Both the giver and receiver benefit, and Renee's does, too. This fortuitous exchange is heartening, as it ensures Renee's future existence, even in a time when big box stores and Chinese-made products seem to be winning.

In that regard, I want to tell you about Lori, a friend of a friend who created some mittens we just received. Lori makes felted wool mittens from old sweaters, and lines them with soft fleece. When I saw her photos I immediately recognized that THIS is what you, my friends and customers, would appreciate. I asked her to send seven pairs.

Yesterday I tore open the box when it arrived. The mittens were even better in person than they looked in the photos. They may not be the least expensive mittens in town, but I can guarantee you will notice quality, recognize value, and immediately think "love and care" when you try them on.

I don't know Lori, the woman who made the mittens, personally, but I do remember when her first husband tragically passed away about fifteen years ago in a farming accident. Although this unfortunate calamity doesn't affect you much, rest assured that these mittens were made by a real person, someone like you who has experienced life's joys and sorrows. Since that heartbreaking time Lori has remarried and is taking care of the ones she loves. She is working at her craft, using her time and talents to the best of her ability, and helping to support her family, just like all of us.

Lori's story brings home what is important in life, especially during this holiday season: people. I hope anyone who darkens our door this season will recognize that everything at Renee's is hand picked with love and care, and chosen with real people in mind!

Thank you for your support. I know I will see many of you this holiday season, and I am grateful. I love my work, I love my customers (you!), and I look forward to offering you and your loved ones special items that become "favorites" for many years to come!

With love,

Renee

Tees by Tina Adds Versatility to your Wardrobe

Hello, dear readers! I'm excited about another new line Renee's is carrying this fall called Tees by Tina. I found this fantastic, seamless layering brand while I was shopping for you in New York last month.

Tees by Tina is a one-size-fits-most seamless apparel collection featuring wardrobe essentials "for any outfit and every woman." Although you may normally object to wearing fitted tops, you might change your mind after you try these! Their versatility, reasonable price and comfort might be just what you need to spark up your wardrobe.

The tops are long in length, and they don't ride up. Supremely stretchy, these tops stay in place and are stunning as stand-alones or underpinnings. In addition, Tees by Tina is all manufactured in the USA.

One size? Trying is believing! This product has an amazing stretch, so it is very comfy. You will be amazed at how well it fits.

Best of all, these quality tops are well priced. We are selling the tanks for $36, the 3/4 sleeve scoop neck tops for $48, the long sleeve mock neck tops for $60, and the leggings for $38.

Try on this new line for layering next time you come in. You'll get great value for your dollar, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Thank you for your support!
With love,
Renee

p.s. We are looking forward to our fall Open House next Thurs., Oct. 20 from noon to 6 pm. Receive a free gift with any purchase. I hope you can come! More details next time, right here.

Two New Boots from Donald J. Pliner

Dear Readers,
Last week I posted about the new-to-Renee's luxurious footwear line Aquatalia by Marvin K. This week I feature two Donald J. Pliner boots now in stock: the trendy GITA boot, which will add a military inspired feel to any wardrobe, and the sleek BERLYN boot, which will fit your legs like a glove. Everybody's wearing boots with skinny jeans and leggings, and you can, too!

The nine-hole lace up front of the GITA ensures a secure fit, and the side zipper allows for easy on/off wearing. GITA has full leather lining and footbeds, which offer beathability and comfort. Other features include vinatage suede fabric, 1.5 inch brushed rubber heel, and rubber lug bottom for traction. Made in Brazil, Renee's is offering this boot for $325.

The elongated toe on the Berlyn boot adds a classic touch while the signature heel plate adds flair. The boot is made of grain nappa stretch fabric, and features a 2.5 inch covered heel. Made in the mountains of Italy, this boot is available at Renee's for $395.

I know what you’re thinking: "My legs are too big to wear boots." Well, I was of that same camp. If I can wear them, so can you!

Step Into Luxury: Aquatalia Now in at Renee's!

Dear Readers,
Allow me to introduce the world's first weatherproof, stain resistant footwear collection using the finest Italian leathers and suedes available: Aquatalia by Marvin K. Now it's available to you in Everett, Washington at Renee's!

Launched in 1989, Aquatalia was created in Italy with methods that would enable the finest materials to withstand the harsh elements. The world’s most exceptional leathers and suedes come from Milan, where founder, president and creative director Marvin K. works with Aquatalia's lead designer to ensure that the centuries-old craftsmanship of Italy, modern footwear technology and luxury styling are evident in every step you take.

Functional Luxury

What's so great about Aquatalia footwear? First, the shoes are fashionable and on trend. Second, not only are they comfortable, but through a unique technological process, the leather is waterproofed during the tanning process. This allows your feet to stay warm and dry in the rain and snow that is ubiquitous in Washington while remaining stylish. Third: non-slip bottoms will keep you safe and steady in any slippery kind of weather. Next, the styles are wearable for women of all ages. Finally, Made in Italy is the stamp of quality on each and every Aquatalia by Marvin K. design. To sum up, Aquatalia is functional luxury.

Aquatalia shoes reflect the design and craftsmanship of Italy and expertise in manufacturing and weatherproof technology.

Aquatalia has perfected the art of fusing technical elements to the latest fashion in footwear. Ease and comfort remain essential ingredients to looking fabulous every day. The Aquatalia collection can be worn day, night or weekend, with styling for today’s busy, modern lifestyle.

The Fall-Winter collections offer style and protection in a range of boots, booties and shoes.

Stop in soon to take a peek at these phenominal, functional, luxuriously stylish boots, booties and shoes now available at Renee's. And as always, thanks for your support!

With love,
Renee
