Curious Customers Want to Know...

Dear Loves,

Renee's infamous sidewalk sale is now over. Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing up and taking home most of the bargains.

Ever see a dress at Renee's priced at $9.99? Here's your chance. An entire rack of items has now been reduced to between $9.99 and $19.99. And then, dear friends, if you still don't want it at those prices, I will donate whatever is left. (This is the time for you non-profits who want a donation to speak up!)

All of the sale items are situated at the front of the store. That way you can get at 'em right when you walk in the door.

We are "entering transition" at Renee's. That's clothing store speak for summer-weight clothing that is "transitioning" into fall colors.

Did you take in the city's "Word on the Streets?" For three weeks vintage typewriters (think Royals, Smith Coronas, Underwoods and Olympias) filled downtown Everett with the sounds of keys clacking, bells dinging, and the zip of carriage returns. Many of you tested your skills and answered the question of the day.

Today we move on to Street Tunes. From now until Aug. 28, stop and play a tune downtown on city-installed pianos decorated by local artists. Don't miss it! "We want everyone to participate in our interactive art project and make Everett Street Tunes a memorable summer experience," said Carol Thomas, cultural arts manager for City of Everett. "Street Tunes has been so successful the last few summers that we have added eight more pianos this year." Click here for piano locations and more information.

How is your summer going? Here come the bitter sweet days of August. You know what I mean... Those days we realize summer is waning, but the weather is still declaring SUMMER! These are the days we try to slow down and take some time off. What will you be doing this month?

Aside from working, this summer I enjoyed tending flowers on the deck...

... and watching the sunset wrapped in a blanket...

...and doing weekly speedwork on the new track at the Navy base and running a 5K race for Oso with my hubby...

...and taking in summer's bounty and enjoying my favorite breakfast (asparagus, eggs, cheese, toast, fruit smoothie and coffee). The morning would not be complete without the daily Sudoku puzzle.

How 'bout you? What joys have you experienced this summer? Enquiring minds want to know!

Thinking of you and sending love,

Renee
