Four Must-Read Tips Before You Shop for Fall

Dear Friends,

Autumn is a favorite time of year for many of us. The clothes! Cozy sweaters, soft jeans, warm scarves... The weather! cooler temperatures, crisp leaves, golden sunshine... The food! Soups, apple pie, candy corn...

Are you making your fall shopping list? Prioritize it! Here are a four tips to keep in mind for more successful buying.

Bootcut jeans are universally flattering

1. Spend more on staples that are wardrobe multipliers. Take Renee's Silver bootcut jeans, for example. You cannot go wrong with this style; it's flattering on everyone. 2. Add some panache -- something outside your box -- to your wardrobe. Think something on trend, current, modern, yet still age appropriate. Scarves, for example, continue to be the new jewelry.

3. Donate or consign a few tired or dated items from your closet. Think: If I could re-purchase the pieces I bought last fall, would I? If not, chalk it up to experience and keep only what you love in your closet.

4. As you shop, ask yourself about quality. "Will this be useful and treasured for years to come?" That's what I'm thinking about when I choose what's in store at Renee's. Shopping with quality in mind is good for the environment, better for the people producing goods, better for our wallets in the long run, and better for quality of life.
