Prepare to be Inspired!
Spring colors are flowing in to freshen up the stock at Renee’s. Ice cream colors from cotton candy pinks to honeydew greens and sky blues are arriving daily. Getting through January and February can be a challenge. Why not come in and get some inspiration now at Renee’s? You’ll rest assured that spring really is just around the corner.
Sometimes I need inspiration, too. That’s when I remember what Whidbey Island resident Steve Burr, a repeat Renee’s shopper for his wife and daughters, said upon walking in one day… “This is the “gettin’ store.” I asked him to explain. “Some stores, you walk in and know right away there is nothing in there that you need or want. This store, when I walk in, I am confident I’m going to leave with something that my wife and daughters love!” I can’t tell you how often those words have encouraged me!
Here are a few other complimentary paragraphs you’ve recently written:
“Thank you so much for the prompt attention you gave to my jacket with the broken zipper. I appreciate the customer service you so generously provided… This kind of service is remembered when a new shopping opportunity occurs.” –Gwen, Puyallup
“Thank you for bringing the best designers and artisans from all over the world to your customers in Everett. We are lucky!” –Kristin, Everett
“I love my Sun Kim dress SO MUCH. I can’t stop wearing it (and washing it) and every time I do, people notice and say, ‘Great dress.’ Such a nice feeling!” –Barbara Greenberg
“Thank you so much! …for your consulting services. You have a gift of helping women feel beautiful and confident through your wonderful pieces of clothing and by YOU, doing what you are called to do and by just being you! Thank you for your honesty!”
“I am enjoying all the compliments that I am receiving on my scarf and necklace. Thank you for a wonderful shopping experience in such an attractive ambience with fabulous clothes.” –Penelope
“It’s my pleasure to shop in such lovely surroundings with the help of your excellent sales staff. You’ll see me often.” –Melanie
“I enjoyed shopping at your store this past Friday. Thank you to both you and Marlene for helping me find all the wonderful clothing to enhance my wardrobe. I talked with you about some pants I purchased in 2004. I have been wearing them for eight years. It just goes to show you that your high quality clothing choices last for a long time.” -Pat Hawley, Federal Way
These comments mean so much to me. Thank you for allowing us to do what we *LoVe*: help you with your wardrobe. I believe you should be able to get dressed without a lot of fuss or trouble. Taking care of your clothing should be easy. Good clothing should last a long time. And you should feel confident wearing the clothing you find at Renee’s.
Simply put, most of us don’t have a lot of extra time. Renee’s does the work for you! I shop with you in mind. When new items arrive, we display clothing that goes together with matching jewelry and accessories to help you shop quickly and efficiently. We provide practical, wearable clothing in a warm, organized, clutter-free atmosphere.
Do you need some inspiration? Walk through our doors. Wander through the store with new eyes. Take a peek at the new things. Thumb through the racks of opportunity; find a few bargains. Discover a few accessories that can easily and inexpensively broaden your wardrobe.
We look forward to meeting you where you’re at, and helping you turn over a new leaf for spring! Come in now, and prepare to be inspired!

Let's Get Edgier!
Emerald green. Pantone's 2013 color of the year. |
Did you declare a theme word for 2013? Mine is "edgier." I don't mean nervously irritable, or impatient and anxious. I'm talking daringly innovative, on the cutting edge, pushing the envelope, with the qualities of intensity and excitement.
Don't worry. I am usually understated. So adding a little edge at the outset of this new year, with a proverbial blank page in front of me, might shake things up a little bit for the better!
Last month Pantone announced the color for 2013: emerald green. "Lively. Radiant. Lush. A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony."
But then, if you've been reading my notes, you already knew that since last September when I talked about what I saw on my New York buying trip here. I was just a *tad* resistant to green then. But it's growing on me.
Green is the color of growth, renewal and prosperity. No other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.
After my brother's surprising diagnosis in October and his subsequent fast demise less than two months later, I need healing. And I want to make the most of the life I've been given. That's where the edge comes in: life is short; let's live it to the fullest.
If it's true that green represents healing, I could use some green. And if green is the new edgy, then bring on the green! Let's live it up.
“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.”
These models show green last September at the New York market. |
Green has often been called a “colored neutral”, which means that it is a color that can work like a neutral and complements just about any color in the rainbow without being too jarring. A bright, clear, warm color with a touch of blue, emerald works well with just about any skin tone.
Let's add some healing to our life. And some edge. Embrace some green. Minimally, we can do it with jewelery or a scarf. Let's be open to a green handbag, shoes, even nail polish.
How will you incorporate green into your look? Will you embrace it fully, or just touch on it? Did you declare a theme word for the year? Feel free to share.
Hello 2013. Hello Edgy!
With love,
Renee
